Northern Children's Services Honors Ambler-based Lakash Constructors

Northern Children’s Services recently recognized Lakash Constructors for its ongoing partnership and commitment to supporting children and families. Lakash president and founding partner Brian Huber, a 30-year construction management veteran, was also honored for his generous support and commitment to improving the 159-year-old agency’s six-acre Roxborough campus.

“Lakash started its relationship with us as many companies do, by serving as sponsors of our annual golf outing,” says Tracey Lavallias, President and CEO of Northern Children’s Services.  “But it quickly grew into so much more, with Brian and his team supporting us in renovating our campus and meeting other needs.”

Since 2006, Lakash has contributed close to $25,000 in golf sponsorships, as well as provided materials and labor to totally renovate an above-ground walkway tunnel connecting several campus buildings. “What once was a long, dim, cold tunnel connecting the buildings on our campus is now a bright, warm, safe breezeway for our children and staff, all thanks to the kindness and talent of Lakash Constructors,” says Lavallias.  The project would have cost the agency $25,000, but Lakash completed it at no cost. The construction company has also contributed to annual Thanksgiving drives and volunteered on numerous occasions.

Founded in 1991, the Ambler-based construction company is comprised of Huber, Neil Dolinsky, Vice President, Steve Milliken, Vice President, and Dave O’Donnell, Chief Estimator, Head of Procurement.  Projects and clients include Main Line Dental, Legg Mason, Philly Dot Com, Saladworks, Republic First Bank, KYW and numerous broadcast stations, medical, technical and corporate offices across the region.

Huber and his wife, Laura, accepted the award at Northern Children’s Services annual holiday dinner on December 4, 2012.
