Burlesque Festival and 'Walk and Talk' Top this Weekend's Events in Roxborough
Need something to do this weekend? Here's some help.
Here's a quick rundown of the weekend's top events in the Roxborough-Manayunk area.
Why Go: Now in its second year, The PA Burlesque Festival comes to the historic Plays and Players Theatre at 1714 Delancey Place (Rittenhouse Square) Philadelphia. Join the ever-effervescent Madame Corsetiere (Jim Thorpe) as she hosts two world-class shows, bursting with the USA's most mesmerizing and most flavorful Burlesque talent.
Pricing: $25 per person
Why Go: Count on us for inspiration and fun for the little ones every Satuday morning. The first and third Saturdays are all about exploring nature: we'll study different objects from nature and take a walk in the woods. The second and fourth Satudays feature read-aloud storytime and old-fashioned games.
Why Go: Artist Brandon Ballengée, whose The Crpytic Ones hangs in our gallery, and Grid magazine's urban naturalist Bernanrd Brown team up for a unique eventing bridging art and science. After Ballengée presents his research and art-making practice in our gallery, the two lead a walk to the Center's amphibian hotspots.
