Former Roxborough Aide Runs for Judge
Shoshana Bricklin is running for judge after serving several years as an aide to Councilman Jones.
Shoshana Bricklin, a former aide to Councilman Curtis Jones, announced to several Roxborough Civic organizations this month that she will be running for judge in the May primary.
“I’ve been in the public sector my entire career,” Bricklin told members of the Shawmont Valley Civic Association on Tuesday. “I enjoy serving the public, and this will give me an opportunity to take it up a notch.”
As part of her former duties, Bricklin did a lot of work with the Shawmont Valley Civic.
“I’ve done a lot to help this group,” Bricklin said. “I also know that this group is environmentally sensitive so I just want to say that I’ve been endorsed by the Sierra Club.”
Bricklin added that she would make a good judge because she can connect to regular people.
“I have a lot of expertise in regular people,” Bricklin said. “I believe that the court is missing that ability to relate to the problems of regular people.”
Bricklin added, “It has been and will be a privilege to serve this neighborhood, and the other neighborhoods of the city.”

This half-assed cellphone snapshot of Shoshana is TERRIBLE. Ms. Bricklin is a good woman who has served our community for many years. ANd this is how we represent her? An unflattering, blurry, cockeyed cellphone pic? Have some respect for this woman (and for your journalism ethic, Jake). Why not have just pulled the publicity head shot from her website?

I pretty much only vote for my local judges based on the pictures I see, so I'm thinking she's already lost my vote.

Very poorly written article. Judge of what? And is being a member of the Sierra Club a good thing or a bad thing? No problem with the picture. People are soooo sensitive...

Is this another career politician which is more concerned about a lost photo-op than the numerous "quality of life" issues that face her community?? I don't care how PHOTOGENIC a politician is.....I care that this photo-flap isn't an early warning sign of a future Judge that we spend tax dollars prosecuting.

Council Man Jones is the one responsible for the current controversy about the new Wendy's Restaurant at Ridge and Roxborough. How did that happen without public hearings on this site? How does Ms. Bricklin square her Sierra Club membership with building a fast food restaurant on one the most congested corner in Roxborough?
