With the National Weather Service projecting a high of 102 degrees and an excessive heat warning in effect for the Delaware Valley, the Manayunk Development Corporation decided to cancel a Saturday concert.

Mired in a heat wave, the MDC announced on Manayunk.com that the heat caused the organization to cancel the July 7 concert, part of the Saturday Summer Concert Series.

That means that Ally Cat with Allison Paige and the Laura Cheadle Band won't hit Main Street Saturday afternoon.

However, the series continues through July 29, so check out Manayunk.com for information about upcoming shows. The concerts are at Canal View Park (Main and Conarroe Sts.) and in front of Chloe's Corner.
