“I wanted to open a studio that would serve everyone in the area from children to young professionals to established adults. Merge Dance Studio is a place where everyone can feel comfortable to come to study dance and take fitness classes whether you have been dancing for years, are just starting out, are looking to get back into it, or are just looking for a fun alternative to your normal workout routine," she said.

The studio, located off Shurs Lane, offers a large dance studio with Marley flooring and high ceilings as well as waiting and dressing areas.

In addition to traditional dance classes—like jazz, tap, ballet and other dance forms—Merge Dance Studio will host workout classes in Zumba, Piloxing (Pilates plus boxing) and jazz funk/hip-hop.

"Manayunk is a great place to live and play. The residents of the area have a great appreciation for the arts and I hope to add to the art scene in the area by providing quality dance and fitness instruction to its residents,” Campbell said.

People can download a registration form online, or by visiting the open houses during the Manayunk Arts Festival. In addition, Merge offers open houses June 26 and 28 from 5 to 8:30 p.m.
