Most Main Street Bars Weathering the Storm
Many say they will remain open as long as they can Saturday night.
Even though Hurricane Irene seems to be barreling toward Philadelphia, most Main Street bars say they're going to weather the storm.
Most say they will stay open Saturday night into Sunday until the power goes out or the city shuts them down because of its state of emergency.
Here's a list of open and closed bars as well as those with adjusted hours:
Jakes & Coopers: Closing at 10 p.m.
Bayou: "Absolutely open"
Bourbon Blue: "Staying open until the power goes out"
Cactus: Open
Manayunk Brewery: No answer
Derek's: Kitchen closing at 9 p.m., bar staying open indefinitely
Gemelli's: Closed Saturday and Sunday
Flat Rock Saloon: Open
McGillicuddy's: Open until 2 a.m. unless the power goes out
Mad River: Normal hours until the city shuts them down
Sapphire: Regular hours, and, according the bar, great parking right outside.
U.S Hotel & Bar: Regular hours
Manayunk Tavern: Regular hours unless they are shut down by the city.
