In the Manayunk-Roxborough area, driving and parking on narrow streets always presents a challenge. Outsiders may doubt the wisdom of parking cars on both sides of the street when it makes driving vehicles through pretty tough. But, residents know that every spot removed ensures more and more parking headaches.

However, when someone parks too far away from the curb on narrow and hilly streets, it can make passing by almost impossible.

Overnight on Levering Street Wednesday, one resident took his or her frustrations out on two inconsiderate cars.

David Bass shared photos from what he calls the "Levering Street branch of the Philadelphia Parking Authority (LPPA)."

"When I went outside this morning I saw these two badly parked cars with notes attached to their driver side windows. The white car's note says, "I park like an a-----'. The darker car's note says, "I too park like an a------.' I don't know who the LPPA person is, but I like the combination of concise directness with good grammar.

I love vigilante justice! Telling it like it is should be rewarded.

I think this is awesome! I am a resident of the area and I know! We have idiots that park like that on my street too. Some of them park on the pavement, some them park so close they might as well of been in the trunk of your car, some of them own the smallest car on the street & take up two spots and most of them simply just don't know how to park a car period! Some people have no common courtesy & can be very inconsiderate...I'm glad someone local, posted notes on those cars. They probably belong to people that just moved to the area and need learn the unwritten rules of neighborhood parking. My guess is, either the owners of those cars just moved in and think they can do whatever they want & change things, college drunks that can't walk a straight line, assholes that have driveways & don't use them so they park on the street, where there is already limited parking or some cheese eatin' wine sippin' yuppies visiting Main Street Manayunk. I wish my street had a guy to police the parking by posting notes like that but there are eyes and ears all over. Somebody is ALWAYS watching.
