Police: Roxborough Mother, Son Killed on Kelly Drive Monday
The woman lost control of her car and struck another vehicle.
An Upper Roxborough woman and her 14-year-old son were killed Monday in a two-car accident on Kelly Drive, Philadelphia Police said.
Police spokesperson Officer Christine O'Brien said Karen Watts, 34, and her son Quinn Fleming were killed Monday afternoon when Watts struck another vehicle. Driving a silver Volkswagen northbound on Kelly Drive, Watts was travelling at a high rate of speed when she lost control of the vehicle, entered into the opposing lane and struck a Toyota Sienna travelling southbound.
Police responded at 3:03 p.m. and pronounced the two dead on the scene. The other driver, a 61-year-old woman, is in critical condition at Hahnemann Hospital.
The incident occurred near Strawberry Mansion Bridge around 2:45 p.m., closing the drive for three hours.
Editor's note: After contact from family friends, Patch corrected Quinn Fleming's age.

Thanks, Anna. We've gotten a few notes about Quinn's age. We changed the story and give pause to the family at this trying time.
