Car Club Raises $2,000 for Gorgas Park at Rock'n the Ridge
The Roxborough Ridge Runners hold 10th-annual event.
With perfect temperatures and sun gleaming on a Ridge Avenue decked out with classic cars, Gorgas Park celebrated the 10th-annual Rockin'n the Ridge Car Show and May Fair Saturday.
Roxborough closed traffic from Leverington to Fountain streets, as residents and tourists gathered for the community festival featuring local vendors, games, food, and—most impressively—classic cars from across the Delaware Valley.
The Roxborough Ridge Runners presented Friends of Gorgas Park President John Boyce with $2,000, and Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams was on hand to help pass out awards and raffle winners.
The Roxborough Development Corporation, Lyceum Physical Medicine, East River Bank, Verizon, LA Fitness and the Hearing Garden were some of the local businesses present, in addition to the Roxborough-Manayunk Patch.
