UPDATE: Little Apple specials.
Americans and Pennsylvanians alike received at two-day reprieve when it came to filing income taxes in 2012, but now everyone must face the music.
Extended until April 17 due to Emancipation Day in Washington, D.C., tax day has arrived.
In Roxborough and Manayunk, the U.S. Post Offices operate as usual. There are no extended hours for lobbies. These stores will close at:
- 4431 Main St., Manayunk—4:30 p.m.
- 6184 Ridge Ave., Roxborough—5 p.m.
- 555 Green Lane, Roxborough—5 p.m.
Though the Main Street post office closes its lobby at 4:30 p.m., customers may still drop mail off until 5 p.m., the designated last pickup time. You are just unable to purchase materials at that time.
In Manayunk, a white board sign encouraged patrons to ship tax returns through certified mail with a return receipt
And if you get done early—or already finished your taxes—a Roxborough pizza place is offering a tax day special. Tony Roni's, on Domino Lane near the Ivy Ridge Shopping Center, features $1 slices of cheese pizza all day.
Main Street boutique, the Little Apple, is also sharing a tax day special. According to owner Molly Cygan, the Little Apple will offer a buy one candle, get 20 percent off deal.
"It's a great time to stock up for spring. New scents from Gritty City Beauty Co., Paddywax & Capri Blue!" she said.
