Volunteer at Gorgas Park Saturday

Roxborough park participates in community cleanup.

In case you missed "Love Your Park Day" last Saturday, there's still another chance for you to volunteer in Roxborough.

Volunteers will head to Gorgas Park on Ridge Avenue for a park sprucing from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

The Philadelphia Horticultural Society mostly hosted cleanups throughout the city May 12. Ivy Ridge Green, Pretzel Park, Neighbors Park and others joined in. Gorgas Park was occupied with the Rock'n the Ridge Car Festival and May Fair, so it pushed the event back a week.

If you attended that event, you should have come across a green flyer that members from Lyceum Physical Medicine were distributing.

On the event flyer, organizers encouraged residents to pitch in.

"This is a great opportunity to give back and serve the community, which has given us so much. We all win when our neighborhood is clean and green."

The Gorgas cleanup will be followed by a BBQ with music from DJ Robby Dee.
