The Farmers Market in Pretzel Park begins its summer run on a blustery Saturday.
The new Farmers Market in Pretzel Park opened for business on Saturday, May 25, despite some less than ideal weather. Merchants had items on display that included organic vegetables, fresh eggs and homemade goods. The farmers market is sponsored and put together by the same people behind the Roxborough Food Co-Op initiative. The market will run on Saturdays throughout the summer from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A Manayunk mainstay, the Manayunk Diner, has been closed until further notice. The lights are off, and the building is empty as a paper sign taped to the door informs potential customers of the closure. The Manayunk Diner was recently named one of the city's best by local blog Uwishunu.
