Bancroft Appoints Internationally Accredited Fundraising Professional as New Chief Development Officer

Bancroft, a locally based, nationally acclaimed leading not-for-profit provider of services for people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities including autism and acquired brain injuries, has named Michelle Gollapalli, MBA, CFRE, CAP®, the organization’s new chief development officer. She will focus primarily on strengthening Bancroft’s development, admissions and marketing communications efforts.

 

Gollapalli brings more than 15 years of fundraising experience in public broadcasting, healthcare, youth services, disabilities and education. Prior to joining Bancroft, she worked as Vice President of Development of Presby’s Inspired Life and before that, oversaw the regional major gifts effort for the national Alzheimer’s Association.

Dedicated to enhancing the growth of the fundraising profession, Gollapalli has served on the board of the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and was also past co-chair of the chapter’s Diversity and Outreach committee. She is a faculty member for the CFRE Review Course and the Fundamentals of Fundraising course and volunteers on the Diversity & Inclusion committee for AFP International. The AFP also honored her by presenting her as a featured member in its international magazine Advancing Philanthropy.

Recently honored as one of Philadelphia’s 40 under 40 by the Philadelphia Business Journal, Gollapalli is a highly regarded and distinguished leader in the area, known for her professionalism and dedicated work ethic. She has mentored many development professionals in the area and most recently served as an officer on the board of directors for the Children’s Village, a nonprofit organization serving the early educational needs of low-income families in the Philadelphia area. She is also currently co-chair of the Asian Mosaic Fund, a giving circle serving Philadelphia’s Asian community.

 

Michelle is a published author with an undergraduate triple major in English Literature, Psychology and Journalism and an MBA in Marketing from the Mount Carmel Institute of Management in India. She received her Certified Fund Raising Executive certification in 2004 and in 2010 was awarded the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®) certification from the American College in Bryn Mawr, Pa. Originally from Bangalore, India, Gollapalli currently resides with her family in Philadelphia.
