Flash Flood Watch Extended Through Wednesday

More rain is expected Wednesday and forecasters say streams, creeks and rivers may rise very quickly.

More heavy rain on the way has prompted the National Weather Service to extend the Flash Flood Watch through Wednesday morning.

A flash flood watch was put in place Monday and expected to expire on Tuesday night. However, additional heavy thunderstorms expected Tuesday evening will require the watch to remain in place through 6 a.m. Wednesday.

The flash-flood watch is in place for Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Lehigh, Montgomery, Northampton and Philadelphia counties, the NWS said.

Rain and thunderstorms are in the forecast. Up to three inches of rain could fall in a short time period, and "flooding of roadways and areas of poor drainage is possible," the NWS said.

Additionally, streams, creeks and rivers may rise very quickly.

The NWS says to be cautious if you live in a flood-prone area.
