Roxborough Squares Off Verse Society Hill in Neighborhood Challenge

Curbed Philly pits us against them in online voting.

Say what you will about it, but Roxborough is our home. And, in my experience, a certain pride exists in natives' hearts for the 19128 area from Wissahickon all the way to Andorra.

Online news site Curbed Philly announced its 2012 tournament for best neighborhood, entitled the Curbed Cup. Similar to the NCAA College Basketball Tournament, this challenge pits neighborhoods against each other in a bracket-style contest.

Of the 16 neighborhoods chosen by the website for the battle, Roxborough earned a #15 ranking—just squeaking in. Roxborough faces off against Society Hill in the first round, and residents have to do is vote for Roxborough—just a poll for us to win.

Winner takes on the victor of Old City (7) verse Bella Vista (10).

Curbed gathered reader feedback to compile the participating neighborhoods, meaning many were omitted. That means people in Manayunk—who were not included—can throw their clicks behind Roxborough, as well.

Other noteworthy matchups include Mt. Airy (16) verse Rittenhouse Square (1); Germantown (8) verse Washington Square West (9); and East Falls (12) verses East Passyunk (5).

Voting for other games has begun, but not quite yet for the Roxborough-Society Hill throwdown. To see all the matchups, visit the Curbed Cup website.
