Snow, Brutal Cold on Its Way

Four to six inches of snow expected to hit the area Thursday night and Friday morning.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning that goes into effect Thursday at 6 p.m., and it will remain in place until Friday at 1 p.m.

The National Weather Service says that some areas can expect as much as four to six inches of snow with temperatures dropping into the mid-teens overnight Thursday into Friday.

Experts also say that the expected storm will bring winds in the 14 to 25 mile per hour range, creating a wind chill of minus three degrees on Friday.

The National Weather Service says that the precipitation will start early Thursday afternoon as rain before switching to snow at around 7 p.m.

The heaviest snowfalls are expected overnight Thursday into Friday at a rate as high as one inch per hour.
