Week Ahead: Meeting Will Discuss Dog Park, Count Some Butterflies

A look at what's going on this week in the area.

Everyone is coming off an enjoyable and well-deserved holiday weekend.  Here are some of things going on this week in Manayunk and Roxborough.

Arts Camp- An art camp begins this week at the Manayunk-Roxborough Art Center.  The six week program will explore multiple mediums in a kid friendly way.  The begins Monday, July 8, and it will run through the rest of the summer.

The Counting of the Butterflies- Join staff of the Schuylkill Center has they march off into the woods to count Monarch butterflies and other seasonal insects.  The program starts at 1 p.m., on Tuesday, July 9.

Dog Park Meeting- Several residents have banded together to turn a vacant lot on Mitchell Street into a dog park.  The idea of a dog park has support from the Central Roxborough Civic Association.  A citizen committee is meeting to determine the next steps on Wednesday, July 10, at 8 p.m.
