Community Corner

Words For $100

The Roxborough Development Corporation is offering $100 to the person who can coin a slogan for the neighborhood.

It seems the is up-ing the ante in its slogan competition.

The reward for coining the neighborhood's slogan recently jumped from $50 to $100 following a contribution from TD Bank, Bernard Guet, executive director of the development corporation said.

The competition began in June and was carried into July to give residents more time to think of and submit potential slogans.

While the corporation received a number of slogans in July, Guet said they are holding off continuing the contest until the fall to reach an even greater number of people because August is a big vacation month.

"We want the slogan to come from a community effort," he said.

Some slogans posted on Patch's facebook wall included "life is better in the boro" and "Roxborough: the greener part of the city."
