This wonderful event is the culmination of a new writing contest for young authors, created by Beth Kephart and The Spiral Bookcase.  Nine area middle school and high school classrooms were up for the challenge – to submit poems, short stories, and essays on the theme “something new, something that could change your life.”

Winning entries were selected from each school and the students who wrote them were invited to participate in writing workshop led by five noted young adult authors.  The top six winners of this group will present their entries for Young Writers Take the Park!  and will be published by Philadelphia Stories.  You will also find the winning entries here!
