Dates Shift for Manayunk StrEAT Food Festival

Restaurant week will now fall after the food-truck event.

Although on schedule for the fall, Manayunk's new food festival altered its date, according to the .

The now is set for Sept. 29, said Caitlin Maloney, marketing and events coordinator for MDC, and the Manayunk Restaurant Week will now fall after the festival—from Sept. 30 to Oct. 5.

"We had to change our dates in order to be line with Center City Restaurant Week," she said.

In addition, the restaurant week no longer conflicts with Yom Kippur, which begins at sundown Sept. 25.

Replacing the EcoArts Festival, StrEAT brings in , gourmet food and craft vendors, and farm stands to Manayunk that Saturday afternoon. Main Street will remain open to traffic, and Manayunk merchants will also particpate.

The inaugural restaurant week intends to offer prix fixe menus set at $10, $20 and $30.
