Getting Married? Register in Manayunk

When registering for weddings, couples often chose corporate department or homegood stores and forget the local businesses they may often patronize. 

However, through Party Space Weddings' new local offering, brides and grooms can register at mom-and-pop shops—even in Manayunk.

Registry10.com compiles a collection of Delaware Valley shops, attractions, charities and other options for people to register online. According to a news release, "The average couple receives approximately $10,000 in wedding gifts at a cost of $100 per guest. Just 10 local gifts purchased on Registry10 generates $1,000 for small businesses and charities in the Greater Philadelphia community. That is where the ‘10′ derives from in Registry10′s name."

Just like organizations Chew Philadelphia Food Tours and Cash Mob Philly, Registry10 wants to celebrate local businesses and give them another avenue to compete against corporate shops.

“The best aspect of Registry10 is being given a greater opportunity to explore local businesses even closer than we would have on our own,” said Michelle Witcofsky who signed up for gifts through Registry10 with her fiancé Vinnie Kruzinski. “Although living in Wilmington, Delaware, we wanted a chance to experience Philadelphia differently than we previously have, which is why we requested the City Food Tours. We also wanted to take a closer look at Longwood Gardens, and be given an affordable opportunity to see its beauty throughout the year."
