Main Street Music to Celebrate Record Store Day Saturday

The 7th annual Record Store Day is Saturday.

Main Street Music in Manayunk will be celebrating the 7th annual Record Store Day this Saturday with live performances and specials. 

Birdy, who was recently nominated for British Female Solo Artist at the 2014 Brit Awards, will perform at the store at 2 p.m. The Gantry, a four-piece indie-rock band, will perform at 3 p.m.

Starting at 4 p.m. there will be a disc jockey spinning tunes. Throughout the day, Sum Pig Food Truck will be parked outside to serve refreshments.

Plus, customers who spend $50 will receive a $5 coupon. If you spend $100, you’ll get a $15 coupon and if you spend $150, you’ll  receive a $25 coupon. The store will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Record Store Day is observed the third Saturday of April each year. Its purpose is to celebrate the culture of the independently owned record store and the art of music.  The day brings together fans, artists and thousands of independently owned record stores across the world.
