Moms Restaurant Roundup: Machismo Burrito Bar to A Taste of Britain

Patch reviews Machismo Burrito Bar, Khajuraho, Kelly's Taproom and Restaurant, Mom's Bake at Home Pizza, Vito's Hoagies, Weinrich Bakery, Chef's Ken's Café, Mel's International and A Taste of Britain with Easy Elegance

Looking for a restaurant that is family friendly?

This week, Roxborough-Manayunk Patch reviewed  with an eye on its kid-friendliness. Our diagnosis: fresh, high quality ingredients are just what the doctor ordered. Bring in your kids and enjoy any combination of meats, vegetables, cheeses, and wraps. When in doubt, most kids will love the tortilla chips or cheese quesadillas. Click  for the review.

This weekend, Patch has reviews of restaurants around the area as well. Find out which ones have kids’ menus and which ones are paying the most attention to food allergies.

While Indian food is not the kid-friendliest, kids might enjoy the vegetable samosas, naan, or kulcha. Vegetable pakoras are also an option. Click for the review.

Yes there is a kids menu with pasta, pizza, and chicken fingers but never forget that there is also a full bar which attracts a big college crowd. I would opt to dine upstairs during earlier dinner hours if I were with children. Click for the review.

Kids will bethrilled to add their own toppings and customize the pizza to their exact specifications. For celiacs, there is even a gluten-free pizza that actually has a rising crust.  Also noteworthy is that the wings are roasted and not fried. Click for the review.

Hoagies are just the tip of the iceberg at this Italian deli. Kids will enjoy the turkey, chicken salad or tuna sandwiches, and of course, the homemade desserts. Click for the review.

An honest-to-goodness scratch bakery that has been family owned and operated for 50 years, Weinrich’s has something for kids, babies, and adults. Take advantage of the fixed price per pound of loose cookies and mix and match your favorites. This bakery is also completely peanut free and always has been. Click for the review.

Moms need not worry about preservatives here as Chef Ken makes the food fresh everyday using no animal fats and mostly olive oil. Take advantage of the "Kennie" meals, although bare in mind that when the regular meals are on special it makes more economic sense to get a regular meal and split it between your kids. A white tablecloth establishment with an unofficial kids menu, this place is probably more suited for date night. Older, well behaved kids could be fine here. Click for the review.

Gluten-free scones and menu items made from scratch are only part of the draw at this spot. There is a fairly extensive kids menu and a professional and willing staff. Click for the review.
