Nguyen Family Presents Euphoria Nail Bar to Manayunk

New nail salon offers 20 percent deal through May 21.

Owners of the new Euphoria Nail Bar in Manayunk have experienced the stereotypical nail salon.

"You're squished in, there's a TV or radio blasting. You're in, you're out," Anni Nguyen said.

Located at 4430 Main St., Euphoria Nail Bar provides the opposite, she said.

How it Got Started

Euphoria Nail Salon is a family business, owned by Lu and Lucy Nguyen, managed by daughter Kim, and staffed, in part, by other relatives, like Anni.

The Nguyens are familiar with Main Street, but weren't looking to open a store when the space became available. Kim said they felt it was right.

"We saw the opportunity, and we seized it," she said. "My parents are businesses owners in the Northeast, and when we saw this, we said, 'Let's do it.'"

After signing a lease in February at the former hair salon, the Nguyens worked to renovate the space. They built a nail bar upstairs, completely repainted, updated the lighting, and knocked down walls to make it a more wide open. Euphoria Nail Bar held its grand opening April 21.

The Euphoria Experience

Euphoria Nail Bar offers what you'd expect—manicures, pedicures, artificial nails, waxing, massages, eyelash extensions—but they say they can separate themselves from other nail salons in Manayunk and Roxborugh.

"We wanted to give Manayunk options. We have a different vibe—it's not just in-and-out. It's a relaxed and pampering... We want you to feel welcome," Kim said.

Each session generally lasts 45 minutes to 1 hour. The nail bar offers free WiFi, and actively encourages people to do work if they want to.

"We want to attract the just-college graduates that are new to the working world. But we also want to be affordable for all people in Manayunk and on Ridge Avenue," she said.

With one complimentary glass of wine per session, Anni emphasized the laid back approach.

"It's more of a pampering, relaxing experience. We try to make it zen-like," Anni said.

The nail employs six people, several of them are Nguyens. Kim said everyone is well-experienced.

"We take pride in our nail techniques, and we're lucky that we can combine so many great skills together," she said.

Patrons can check out the new nail salon at a discounted rate. Through May 21, Euphoria offers a 20 percent discount.
