Philly Represents on 'Best Beer Bars in the Country' List

"Back in the '80s, owner Tom Peters had to convince people to spend $8 on a bottle of Chimay -- nowadays, Monk's has little trouble finding people who want to drink from their 300+ bottles," Thrillist writes of Monk's Cafe.

A Philly bar has been included on Thrillist’s ranking of the 33 Best Beer Bars in the Country.  The website has included Monk's Cafe on its picks for best place in America to drink good beer.

"Back in the '80s, owner Tom Peters had to convince people to spend $8 on a bottle of Chimay -- nowadays, Monk's has little trouble finding people who want to drink from their 300+ bottles, mostly from Belgium. With antique Belgian beer signs hanging on the wall, the vibe is based on some of Peters' favorite cafes in the European country," Thrillist writes of Monk's, which is located at
264 S 16th St.
