Restaurant Roundup: Laxmi's Indian Grille to PB and U

Patch reviews Laxmi's Indian Grille, Positano Ristorante, Beijing Inn, The Little Treehouse Play Café, Westgate Pub, InFusion, Chops Restaurant and Bar, Spamps Restaurant, Chinnar Indian Cuisine and PB and U.

Looking for a good restaurant to go to this weekend?

Roxborough-Manayunk Patch brought you the details of Laxmi’s Indian Grille Thursday. The best dish according to the owner and son of the restaurant’s namesake is the salmon tandoori.  The availability of vegan and gluten-free dishes at this newly opened Indian restaurant ensure that there really is something for everyone. Generous portions, excellent service and a decidedly Mediterranean atmosphere are the draws of this tried and true neighborhood Italian restaurant. The pasta is al dente and the vegetables are lovingly prepared. Click for the review.

The food is hit or miss at this conveniently located Chinese and Japanese restaurant. The seafood hot and sour soup was good but the service leaves much to be desired. Click for the review.

A play land for kids that offers both kid and adult friendly fare, the surprising crowd favorite was the kid’s macaroni and cheese. Nicely cooked noodles and delicious cheese sauce made this dish just right. The chicken Caesar wrap is the winner of the adult menu. Click for the review.

Stop in for a decent burger, the Eagles game and an impressive beer list including wonderful local brews and fancy imports. They’ll treat you like a regular even on your first visit. Click for the review.

Whether you love coffee or tea, this is the place to be. The locally baked goods, homemade sandwiches and friendly staff all add to the experience. Try the breakfast sandwiches--they are surprisingly good as is the Vietnamese iced coffee. Click for the review.

An old school steak house with well-executed but simple food, Chops delivers four star service in a white tablecloth setting. Try the crab cake appetizer and the delicious dry aged NY strip steaks. Click for the review.

This seafood, sushi and steak restaurant does not shy away from gut busting specialties. Try the fried fettuccini, the lobster ravioli and The Classico for dessert but not all by yourself, this is food meant to be shared. Click for the review.

Stop in for the tantalizing lunch buffet which is a steal for $8.95. The terrain may not seem all that familiar but the meat and vegetable preparations are saucy and tasty, just be careful not to wear white. Click for the review.

Whether you love your PB and J straight up or with bacon and banana, this is the place to get your fix. This kid-friendly temple to the world’s most popular legume is the brainchild of a former advertising vet. Click  for the Meet the Owner.
