Roxborough Rita's Starts Season in February

The water ice shop is currently looking for new employees.

Spring might be a few weeks away, but that doesn’t mean Roxborough can’t get an early jump on water ice season.

Rita’s of Roxborough announced on its Facebook page that it will be opening for the 2013 season on Friday, Feb 15.

On top of that, the store is currently looking for a shift leader. According to their statement, job duties include:

  • overseeing team performing storefront duties such as guest service, cleaning and maintaining the quality of the products.
  • maintaining and operating a successful store while following Rita's policies and procedures
  • maintaining excellent guest service as well as promoting a team atmosphere to maximize store sales and profits
  • must be able to lift and/or carry 30 lbs. of weight

Interested parties can email resumes to store433@ritasfranchises.com.

Check out Rita’s Patch listing for more information on the store.

I stopped going to Rita's after they worked out a deal for that location and just about forced Dairyland out to Main Street.

Really? Who cares? If dairyland had a good business model they'd still be open.

Dairyland didn't have a good business model? Dairyland was at the same location on Ridge Avenue for 30 years. I knew they wouldn't do well on Main Street because they pretty much relied on drive thru business rather than pedestrians walking by. On well, there's always the custard stand across the street. I guess eventually some chain will try to run them out too.

And is it good business to abandon what has been working for 30 years? If you knew that they were making a mistake then why didn't you warn them? There's a froyo on Main St that does a great business and it's mostly foot traffic.
