So Long to Frak's Steaks?

It's unknown if closure at Levering Street cheesesteak joint is permanent.

Readers and Manayunk customers want to know—what's up at Frak's Steaks on Levering Street?

The winner of the Roxborough-Manayunk Patch Readers' Choice contest for best breakfast spot has been closed throughout October. However, it's not sure if that's the long-term destiny for that location.

Other than saying she knew of its closure, Jane Lipton, from the Manayunk Development Corporation, said shes was unaware of Frak's future status.

Permits indicate that Frak's Steaks has a food preparation license valid through April 2013.

Calls and messages to listed business contacts were not returned Monday. From the outside, stools are turned upside-down, but Frak's appears to be intact. Although no one answered the door, an interior light was on.

According to city records, Frank McGarvey of Ambler, PA, owns the 114 Levering St. property—including the upstairs apartments. His listed phone is disconnected.
