The Results Are In: Our Readers' Favorite Bar

The results are in and was named the best bar in Roxboroughby Patch readers in last week's Best of Patch poll. The took the title in Manayunk.

According to reviews on Yelp.com,  the Brewery's atmosphere is what brings some out. "The music, the decor, the bars and especially the crowd being of all different ages and demographics really makes this place enjoyable to sit around, have some sandwiches, a few beers and take everything in," one reviewer wrote.

Another reviewer called the Brewery a definite stop when in Manayunk."I was pleasantly surprised at the huge menu and even more delighted to find that their shushi is phenomenal. Great atmopshere and good service."

A little further up the hill, reviewers call Henry James one of the best bars not just in Roxborough, but the entire city.

"Service is always friendly and their food is the best...the owner is there regularly and it is obvious that he and the staff take a great deal of pride in the establishment. They are extraordinarily supportive of the neighborhood, local schools and law enforcement organizations," the reviewer wrote.

Unlike other bars in the area, the reviewer stated that, "Henry James is a place for families, it's a place for 20 and 30-somethings - it's even a place to fly solo for a beer or two. You're guaranteed to make some friends, have a great mean and an all-around fun experience."

Henry James and The Manayunk Brewery join the best of Patch list for best diner, as best barber, as favorite hair salon, for best bakery, as best grocery store, for best pizza shop and as best coffee in the area.
