Well Manayunk, the weekend is here again and since according to some it might be your last, our recommendation is that you enjoy it.

Sunday Funday at Bourbon Blue

Where/When: Bourbon Blue Restaurant and Canal Lounge, 2 Rector Street, Sunday  from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. Tim Williams plays acoustic from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Why Go: Sunday is "In the Biz" day. Why not party with the largest "In the Biz" crowd in Philadelphia? (Question is rhetorical)

“In the Biz Night” at Manayunk Brewery

Where/When: Manayunk Brewery, 4120 Main St, on Sunday starting at 8 p.m.

Why Go: A celebration especially for hard-working hospitality professionals! Make your escape and join us for food, drink, and live acoustic music.

Pricing: $2.75 mugs, $4 featured mixed drinks, complimentary pizzas, and first drink's just one cent for the ladies.

 

Weaver’s Way Fresh and Local Fair

Where/When: Weaver’s Way Coop locations, 559 Carpenter Lane, 8424 Germantown, & 2129 72nd Ave; Saturday from noon to 4 p.m.

Why Go: Kick off this year’s growing season and celebrate local vendors and farmers with grilling and live music. Weavers Way Mt. Airy will also be offering a large selection of great, locally grown plants from Didden’s Greenhouses.

Pricing: Free to attend; samples available from a wide range of local vendors.

 

Philadelphia On Parade Family Arts Festival

Where/When: Mann Center for the Performing Arts, 5201 Parkside Ave, Saturday from 1 1. a.m to 6 p.m.

Why Go: The festival kicks off at 11 a.m. with a Mardi Gras-style parade, complete with a jazz brass band. Featuring more than 1,000 performers, this first-time event will put the spotlight on the diversity of world music with a line-up that includes everything from classical, gospel, funk, and swing to Asian-inspired rock, jazz, blues, African dance and drum, and even an appearance by PBS Kids’ favorite RAGGS and their “Live Dance” party. Artists and acts are scheduled across five stages throughout the Mann’s campus in Fairmount Park, with performances ranging from 15 to 30 minutes each. In addition to music, the CIGNA Children’s Pavilion will feature storytellers, jugglers, balloon artists, and demonstrations for guests to try jump roping, Irish dance, and Chinese lion dancing. There will also be arts and crafts stations for little hands, face painters, and plenty of fun festival foods and concessions. Families are welcome to bring picnics to enjoy.

Chestnut Hill Roadshow Appraisal Day

Where/When: Venues include: Philadelphia Print Shop, 8441 Germantown Ave; Gravers Lane Gallery, 8405 Germantown Ave;  Delphine Gallery, 8435 Germantown Ave; Hideaway Music, 8612 Germantown Ave; Leather Bucket, 84 Bethlehem Pike. Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (call shops to verify hours)

Why Go: Get a professional opinion of the value of your possession while benefiting the Chestnut Hill Historical Society --  art, prints, antiques, and musical instruments.

Pricing: $15; number of appraisal items may be limited.

 

Chestnut Hill Growers Market

Where/When: Winston Road at  Germantown Avenue, Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Why Go: Enjoy fresh local food, including chemical-free, organic & IPM vegetables and berries, IPM fruit, goats'-milk cheeses and yogurt, eggs and meat from pastured animals, honey, and sustainably-caught fish.
