Presbyterian Senior Living Announces Grand Opening of Vista Ridge

Ware Presbyterian Village, a Presbyterian Senior Living continuing care retirement community (CCRC), has announced the grand opening of Vista Ridge. Vista Ridge is part of a $24.5 million expansion of the CCRC, and features new community space and independent living apartments and carriage homes. The grand opening event will take place at 3:00 p.m. on June 5, 2014 at Vista Ridge.

“Ware Presbyterian Village is a very active community, where people 55 and over come to discover new hobbies, set new goals and make new and meaningful friendships,” said Yolanda Johnson, executive director at Ware Presbyterian Village. “We needed a community space that matched the level of resident involvement we see here on campus. Vista Ridge has everything we need to foster stronger fulfillment and engagement.”

The new Pavilion Club House features two dining options, including restaurant style dining and a bistro where diners can enjoy light fare or a glass of wine. Conversational social areas have been strategically placed throughout the two-story complex, and private dining rooms are available for resident use. The community space also includes a cultural arts auditorium.

An adjacent building offers 31 one- or two-bedroom apartments where safety and convenience were primary considerations. Each apartment has one underground parking space and keyless fobs are used for entry. The expansion also includes eight “carriage home ” style independent living duplexes, adding to the community’s existing 79 independent living villas, 52 assisted living apartments and studios and 137 skilled nursing accommodations.

“As we continue to expand and evolve our campuses, sustainability efforts are a major factor incorporated into our plans because of the long-term benefits,” said Rodney Fenstermacher, corporate director of construction and planned assets at Presbyterian Senior Living. “Vista Ridge uses geothermal heating and cooling – an investment that is expected to deliver a return of five to eight years. We’ve also included a system of 30 underground storage areas to manage storm water runoff.”

The grand opening event is scheduled for June 5, 2014 at 3 p.m. at Vista Ridge (7 E. Locust Street, Oxford, PA 19363).
