The Yunk, the Couch

Hello. Dave Kob here. I'm 27 years old. Here is a quick rundown of my story and angle of this blog for the next two months. 

I grew up in Philadelphia. I went to college at Pepperdine University in California. I was an accountant for a year after college. At night I came home and wrote a comedy script about a bunch of hot dog vendors. I showed it to a guy in the entertainment industry. He told me to quit my job, so I did. I got a gig on Spartacus on STARZ network as a production assistant, and in three years worked my way into the writers room and got an episode, which will be out next year. Each writing season was about nine months, so I would have three months off each year, usually in the summer. 

I spent those three months crashing on my buddy Tink's couch in Manayunk for the last three years. This will be my last summer here, as now I'm in the Writers Guild and have an agent and my work will keep me primarily in Los Angeles. 

This blog will be about why I choose to sleep on a couch in Manayunk instead of in my bed in my apartment 3,000 miles away in the city of angels.
