Changes Coming for Route 35 Riders

Bus Route 35, that provides service to Manayunk and Roxborough will be changing June 19.

Changes are coming to Septa's Route 35 line that provides service to Manayunk and Roxborough later this month.

The change is due to larger-sized buses, approximately five-feet longer and six-inches wider, that will no longer be able to travel down the area's narrow roads.

According to Kevin Smith, president of the Manayunk Neighborhood Council, the route will no longer travel down Cresson, Silverwood or Fountain Streets.

The new route is larger and will provide service to the Ivy Ridge Shopping Center, Domino Lane and Umbria Street near the Ivy Ridge Train Station.

Changes are scheduled to be implemented June 19 and the route will be experimental for a year following the changes. During that year bus riders will have the opportunity to weigh in on the changes.
