City Schools to Close Early

Due to extreme heat and humidity, all schools in the Philadelphia School District will close at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, a press release from the school district stated. 

According to the National Weather Service, the combination of temperatures in the mid 90s and high humidity could create a situation in which heat illness is possible, release continued.  

Due to a power outage at the Manayunk Brewery, North Light Community Center's pot luck social set for this evening has been rescheduled for June 29 at 6 p.m.
