Flood Watch Issued In City

The watch was issued from 6 p.m. Saturday through 6 a.m. Monday.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for Philadelphia and surrounding counties from 6 p.m. Saturday through 6 a.m. Monday. 

Showers and thunderstorms are expected with periods of heavy rain likely, the service said adding that rainfall amounts of two to three inches are expected in much of the region. 

Flooding along streams, creeks and areas of poor drainage are expected.
