Manayunk and Roxborough offer many places and events this weekend to take your significant other, find a new one, or commiserate with others. Of course, non-loved based events will also occur.

1. BEN-FM Mile of Meet—

  • Why Go: For the seventh consecutive year, this meet-up serves as a great place for singles to connect—plus DJ Marilyn Russell and VH1 host Steven Ward will attend.

  • Why Go: Parents and professionals are invited to this showcase demonstrating advanced techniques for 1st to 12th graders with learning differences.

5. "The Heart of Haiku..."—

  • Where/When: 419 Green Lane, Sunday, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
  • Why Go: Two masters in Japanese poetry will lead a reading of haiku, tanka and related forms before an open mic invites the community to do the same.
