No matter what your background, Cinco de Mayo is a cause for celebration. This holiday, which celebrates the victory of Mexican militia over the French in the landmark Battle of Puebla in 1862, has spread from a regional holiday to a truly international day of festivities. And Philly has no shortage of locations to commemorate this historic day--especially right in our area.
- Mad River Manayunk – Mad River will once again host its renowned Cinco De Mayo party, with live music, great drink specials, and its typical party feel. Come see Go Go Gadjet perform with DJ Daily between sets and take advantage of the all-day drink specials on $3 Coronos and Cuervo Silver Margaritas until midnight. And how could you say no to a free taco bar from 6-8 p.m.?

Take advantage of the $4 Corona and $2.75 house drafts specials while you party with your friends.

Cactus also has a number of regular Thursday drink specials on Blur Moon and Stoli drinks and Quizzo every week at 9 p.m. with half price appetizers.

This place always has a daily happy hour and late night dining with a kitchen open until 1 a.m., and with festive décor and a partying atmosphere, you can imagine that this will be a fun time come Thursday.
