Great Escape: Outdoor Dining

Here are just a few local spots to dine outdoors.

1. Mel’s Kitchen – With a great roast pork recipe that needs to be shared with the world and an enormous breakfast, lunch and dinner spread, this is a great spot right near home to take the family for some good eating. With fresh entrees like wraps, hot turkey and other wholesome meals prepared daily, a catering option and a bunch of outdoor seating, this is a great place to settle in for an evening or afternoon.

Chloe’s Corner – Like a paradise island hidden in the midst of the ocean, is the perfect retreat to sit outside and enjoy yourself for a well-deserved treat or meal (because during this time of year, ice cream totally counts as a meal). With an array of park benches and patio tables, take a load off, have some ice cream and watch the busy street life around you as you exhale.

4. The Couch Tomato: Whether you want a diverse, fillings salad, from scrumptious pizza or some tasty nachos and guacamole at your outdoor feast, you’re sure to find anything you could want at the Couch Tomato. Right off the main drag, this spot has a lively atmosphere, fresh produce that goes into every bite and a catering and online ordering option so you don’t have to wait in line, but can swing by for your food and a quick lunch or linger and enjoy the Manayunk scene.
