Morning Commute: Streets Mostly Clear, No SEPTA Cancellations

Commuters are advised to give themselves extra time to get to work.

While many Philadelphia public and parochial schools are closed due to the 4.5 inches of snow February dropped on Roxborough and Manayunk Monday night, the morning commute should be manageable.

The snow itself is light and powdery, so not only can it be wiped off of cars with minimal strain, it likewise seems to be fairly easily cleared off of streets.

In and around town, Henry Avenue is slushy and should be avoided if possible. It is traversable though, especially in a four wheel-drive vehicle. Ridge Avenue is also worse for the fall, but is a step up from Henry.

Green Lane is almost entirely clear between Ridge and Main Street, save for a few areas of slush, while Main Street is mostly clear as well.

The Manayunk side streets, famously treacherous after a snow storm, are also largely fine.

Regarding public transportation, according to a SEPTA official there are no route cancellations, though there are a handful of detours and delays. Bus 27 will be staying on Ridge Avenue rather than moving to Henry.
