NWS Warns of Windy Friday

A wind advisory is in place for the Delaware Valley.

Friday might have mild temperatures, but the wind will kick up.

The National Weather Service in Mt. Holly, NJ, issued a wind advisory for Friday until 9 p.m. for Philadelphia and all of Eastern Pennsylvania. The agency predicts west winds from 20 to 30 mph, with gusts possibly reaching 45 to 50 mph.

Friday reached 61 degrees early in the day, but should dip to 33 degrees at night. The wind will cool things off.

A wind advisory means strong gusts could prove dangerous to trees. According to a statement, "Gusts can knock down tree limbs and possibly some weaker trees, especially with the recent rainfall."

The agency urged motorists to maintain caution on bridges and elevated roadways. Also, if you have any outdoor furniture, you should secure it.
