The National Weather Service has declared a severe thunderstorm watch for Philadelphia and surrounding counties until 8 p.m. Friday.

Thunderstorms are possible with heavy rains and gusty winds. The watch means that conditions are favorable for thunderstorms with hail and/or wind gusts of at least 58 mph.
People in the area should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions.
