Easter Morning Sunrise Service at Gorgas Park

The Northwest
Christian Alliance (NCA) is again hosting an Easter Sunrise Service at Gorgas
Park on Sunday, April 20, at 7am.
Folks from area churches will gather at the gazebo for another inspirational
time celebrating the reality of Jesus’ conquest over death.

 The spirit of joyful unity
that characterizes these services is evident in the range of participants. Congregational
singing will be led by Epic Church’s Jordan Bower. The Messengers of Hope from
the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) will provide two choral
numbers in its distinctive style.  Longtime
Roxborough resident Gene McGee will bring a message from Mark 16 and Rev. 1
entitled “‘Believe in the Risen Christ.”  Mr. McGee was an elder at New Life Church in
northeast Philadelphia and is presently Coordinator of Men’s Ministries with
CityNet. He is passionate about helping men to become faithful disciples, and
this passion and emphasis will be apparent in his message. Representatives of
other churches and organizations will also participate. The congregation will
respond to the preaching with a series of affirmations that commit those who
believe in the risen Christ to the path of glad obedience.

 The Sunrise Service
will run approximately 40 minutes. Seating is limited and first preference will
be given to the elderly and infirm. In the event of rain the service will be
held at nearby Leverington Presbyterian Church, located at the corner of Ridge
Ave. and Hermitage St.

 All are invited to enjoy
a fellowship breakfast at the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center, 4555
Pechin St., immediately following the service.

 The Sunrise Service
is the seventh one sponsored by the Northwest Christian Alliance (NCA). The NCA
is an association of Bible-believing churches and ministries whose
leaders meet monthly for mutual encouragement through vision sharing and
education. These leaders are committed to demonstrating the unity of Christ's
people across denominational and cultural lines in order to present
every man, woman and child in our community with the good news about Jesus. In
addition to coordinating a variety of joint events NCA member organizations
actively promote each other’s ministry efforts in recognizing that people’s
spiritual and material needs trump ecclesiastical territorialism.
