Kline Studios winter class session starts January 8 in the school building at Holy Family on 234 Hermitage Street in Manayunk. Art, music, dance and drama classes are offered to children, ages 4 to 11 after school on Tuesdays starting at 4:15 pm. Art includes drawing, painting and sculpture. Many techniques, materials and genres are explored. Music consists of singing, note-reading, violin and audition techniques, while exploring musical theater and classical music. Dance allows the exploration of dance techniques and modern music adaptation through ballet. Drama teaches improvisation and acting methods through skits and small plays.
John and Christine Kline have been running Kline Studios programs in the Bryn Mawr area for 5 years, and have now begun to bring the arts to the Manayunk area. They have 33 years combined experience teaching children from the Country Day School of the Sacred Heart.
Families are encouraged to stop in and to take look, ask questions, or just try it out. Parents or guardians are welcome to observe their child’s classes or sit in the hallway lounge and relax. Classes are only $15 each, or $40 for all four classes (art, music, dance and drama).
