As part of Mishkan Shalom’s Adult Education program, Rabbi Yael Levy will teach a six-session course in Jewish Mindfulness practice based on the teachings of the 16th and 17th century Jewish mystics. Participants in the class, “Going Forward with Intention and Returning Home,” will study the divine qualities of wisdom and understanding found in Torah texts, liturgy and Kabbalistic imagery. The course will also explore spiritual practices to tap into the deep roots of tradition for guidance in living. Prior knowledge or experience with mindfulness or mystical tradition is not necessary. Classes are held Wednesdays from Oct. 24 to Dec. 12 (no class Oct. 31 or Nov. 21) from 6:15pm to 8pm in the Mishkan Shalom library, 4101 Freeland Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19128. Cost is $108 for members, $144 for non-members. Register online at www.mishkan.org/a-way-in or call 215.508.0226.
