Sixth Annual Hospitalized Veterans Tribute

Schedule of events for
the sixth Annual Hospitalized Veterans Tribute Concert July 26, 2014





Place: Gorgas Park, 6300
Ridge Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19128

2014 - 10am until 3pm

10:00 am



All activities in place and ready to go.



Activities and tables include information from numerous
community and civic groups.



Music, food, beverages. Local Boy and Girl Scout troops will
be on hand to describe the benefits of scouting.



10:00 am



Veterans from Coatesville VA Medical hospital arrive with a
motorcycle escort from numerous veterans groups including Operation Bedding,
Warriors Watch, Hero's Welcome, Legion Riders and more. Veterans, Scouts and
Volunteers will establish a flag covered Walk
of Honor
. Each hospitalized veteran will be greeted as they are escorted to
their seats for the concert and picnic.



10:15 am



Merion Concert Band
with more than 40 volunteer members under the direction of Nathan Snyder will perform
our National Anthem accompanied by singers from The Savoy Company. Following
the National Anthem the Merion Concert Band will perform music consisting of:
Military, Popular, and Classical Music



11:00 am



Lunch will be served to our honored veterans from the
Coatesville VA Medical Center



11:45 am



The Savoy Company
will perform Gilbert & Sullivan’s comic opera “Trial by Jury”



12:30 pm



Old Academy Players
will perform a scene from their always entertaining one-act plays  "



2:30 pm



Coatesville veterans depart.



Through
out the day the July 4th Parade Committee will be conducting a bake sale and
all proceeds will be used to support the Annual July 4th parade. Please support
this fine effort.



The
Roxborough Ridge Runners will have classic cars on display; Therapy Dogs
International will have Therapy Dogs to demonstrate the benefit of their
program. Craig Konowal “Circle of Sound” will be our guest DJ.



This
sixth annual tribute to our hospitalized veterans is sponsored by the 21st Ward
Veterans Association. The intent is to show our gratitude for the sacrifice
that the men and women of our armed forces continue to make. This is only our
small way of showing these fine veterans that their commitment to our country
has not been forgotten. We invite everyone to come out to this event to show
support of our hospitalized veterans. We also hope that people learn something
about the many fine organizations that make our community so great.



This
event is possible because of the strong support of many people and
organizations. Primary supporters of this event are:



The
Merion Concert Band, Old Academy Players, The Savoy Company, Project Outreach,
Friends of Gorgas Park, Local churches and scout troops .



Many
people and organizations have committed time, funding and materials to assure
our honored guests have a memorable time. Here is a partial list; Prism
Engineering, The Zamorski Family, 21st Ward Fourth of July Association, Henry
Houston American Legion, Stanley’s True Value Hardware, Mark Lally, The Church
of St. Alban, Episcopal, The Pellicciotti Family, Rita’s Water Ice, and many others.
