Interact Rebrands in Time for Spring Fair

now embraces the letter "T."

At the annual fair for the Roxborough center, which specializes in geriatric health and senior services among other aspects, the group will debut its new accronym—a name many called it for years: Interact.

Officially abbreviated to "Interac," the nonprofit decided to switch it up, Development Director Steven May said.

"We went through a marketing study about two yeas ago. We used focus groups and the feedback we got was that people were confused about the message we put out," May said. "We came to embrace that people always add the 'T' in."

The grand unveiling will happen May 22 at Interact's annual spring fair, where the nonprofit will discuss its new slogan—"Interact. Achieve Your Potential."

That event is held at the Langhurst Mansion, the group's headquarters at 6012 Ridge Ave. The name change highlights a complete rebranding.

"One huge piece of news is that we have a new brand, website, image debuting at the event. Every year we plan to showcase our services, and say, 'Hey, we're here. This is what we do.' It's for those people who walk by everyday and think, 'What the heck is that?'" May said.

Largely static in its current form, the Interact website will become more fluid and updated more frequently.

"The new site is just amazing. It will show off how we are part of the community," May said.

Interact's service base includes Roxborough, Manayunk, East Falls, Wissahickon and parts of Hunting Park. They also work in behavioral health and intellectual disability. In addition to the mansion, they have senior housing or counseling centers at 4120 Tower St. and , 403 Rector St.

"This is our home. We've been here for 43 years. We want to let people in Roxborough and Manayunk know we are here," May said.

May said Interact also works with the School District of Philadelphia for school therapeutic services.

The Tuesday event, which runs from 5 to 7 p.m., will offer plenty of kids activities—games, facepainting, balloons, and sand art—in addition to informative workshops for adults.

"We want to point folks in the right direction for resources in the community. We may have what they need public right here," May said.
