Celebrate Halloween in Manayunk

It's Halloween Week in Manayunk, and the Manayunk Development Corporation has a lot of fun in store for everyone.

Here's a rundown of what's going on provided by the MDC:

Manayunk's Zombie Thriller Dance-Off!

Zombies will be taking over Cotton Street in Manayunk, lurching out with eerie dance moves from Michael    Jackson’s classic hit, Thriller. Dancers of all ages are welcome to compete in the ghoulish zombie frolic right off of Main Street in Manayunk.

Don’t know all the moves to Michael Jackson’s Thriller?  No worries!  We will have Merge Dance Studio Owner and Choreographer, Christa Campbell, leading a step-by-stepinstruction session before the competition begins!

The competition will be broken into three waves.  The first, for kids ages 12 and under, the second, for teens, ages 12-18, and the final for adults, ages 18 and over!  The dancers will pull off their best Michael Jackson moves and be tapped on the shoulder to exit the floor one-by-one until the winner is left standing.

$1,000 in cash prizes will be awarded to the winners: "Best Dancer" and "Best Zombie Costume."

Trick Or Treating

Pick up a Manayunk Halloween candy bag from a Manayunk business or from the MNYK table located on Cotton Street and make your way up and down the street to trick or treat at our Manayunk businesses. Partipating businesses with candy will be marked with a scarecrow. Follow the scarecrows to fill your bag with sweets and treats!

Fall Festival In Pretzel Park

There will be lots of fun fall activities happening all day in Pretzel Park (right off Main Street - enter via Cotton Street or Roxborough Ave.! The line-up of events include:

Farmers Market (10AM-2PM) / Food Trucks & Vendors / Story Time (10:30AM) / Dance Performace / Children and Dog Costume Parades and Contests / Pumpkin Painting / Pumpkin Throwing Contest / Food Carving Demonstration / Face Painting / Drawing and Coloring Activities / Fall Scene Photo Booth / Raffle / Live Music (12PM-6PM) / Classic Horror Movie Screening (6PM)!

Philadelphia Flea Market

Philadelphia's largest flea market will come to Manayunk once again during Halloween In Manayunk! Shope for antinques, collectables and vintage finds! The flea market will take place along the 4200 block of Main Street between Rector and Pensdale Aves.
