City Services Curtailed for New Year's Day

City offices and services will be curtailed on Jan. 1.

The following is a press release from the City of Philadelphia.

All City of Philadelphia offices will be closed and City services curtailed on New Year's Day, Wednesday, January 1, 2014 -- a legal holiday.  
  
Streets Commissioner David J. Perri reminds residents that trash and recycling collections will not be collected on Wednesday, January 1. City officials are asking all residents, whose normal collection is on Wednesdays, to place their rubbish and recycling out for collection on Thursday, January 2.  The rest of the regularly scheduled week’s collections will be delayed one day. 
  
All City District Health Centers are closed on New Year’s Day, as are all branch offices of the Department of Licenses and Inspections; the North and Northeast Municipal Service Centers; the Marriage License Bureau; all Department of Recreation facilities; the Free Library of Philadelphia and all of its branches and the executive offices of the Philadelphia Parking Authority, as well as its Violations branch, at 9th and Filbert streets.
