New Website Forum For Community Projects

The site allows residents to submit ideas, volunteer for neighborhood projects and become more involved in their community.

Do you have ideas to improve your neighborhood but haven't said anything because you're not exactly sure who to tell?

A new website, Change By US Philly, could be the answer to your problems.

"It's a forum to discuss anything you'd like to talk about," Wissahickon Neighbors Civic Association Preident Andrew Bantly said at a meeting earlier this month.

According to its website, "Change By Us Philly is an online marketplace for community projects that allows you to share ideas for making the city better and to turn those ideas into projects that have a real impact."

Philadelphia is following in the footsteps of New York and Seattle.

The website provides, it continued, tools to network and manage events as well as connections with local resources and a number of ways to get involved.

Anyone who has an idea can add it to the website and connect with other people and projects in your area. The website reminded possible contributors that no idea is too big or too small.

If residents haven't thought of any ideas yet, they can join other projects in their area, promote events, recruit volunteers and find in-kind donations, the website continued, adding that building teams and finding resources is essential to tapping into the power of your community and connecting with city services and local knowledge.
