WWII Pilot Among this Week's Roxborough Obituaries

The father of three and and grandfather of four passed away on March 13.

John B. Cording Jr., of Roxborough, 95

Jack Cording was a C47 aircraft pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. He was an air transport squadron commander as a First Lieutenant with the 1340th and 1365th AAFBU in the China, Burma, and India (CBI) theaters. During his service, he flew more than 35 missions over the Himalayas, known to the allied forces as “The Hump”.  He was a recipient of many awards, including the Distinguished Flying Cross, for his dedicated service.
